2016 BCS Dinner and Auction in Review

Awesome is a word that is used too much in today’s world, but sometimes it just needs to be said because it is truly the best descriptive word. This morning I came into work motivated and thrilled!

Motivated because of the incredible support and passion I felt and heard at last Saturday night’s Thrive Dinner and Auction at the Mirro Center. I wish that I could recap the many conversations I had Saturday night with parents and guests regarding the incredible impact the school has had on students, families, and our community.

Thrilled because of the support (blessing, funding, and encouragement) this fundraiser has provided for our school’s vision as we commit to living out our mission statement of Preparing Hearts and Minds to Serve Christ. This event set records for our school in attendance. We were pleased to have 338 reservations for the evening. I want to send a special thank you to each of you who took a night out of your life to support our school. I understand that we all live very busy lives, so your attendance was encouraging to our entire ministry.

This event also set a new record in dollars raised for our school. I am pleased and humbled to announce that the Thrive Dinner and Auction raised $156,265.00 as of this morning. Now do you see why I have to use the word AWESOME to describe this event? I also understand that each of us has a steady ask for support to worthwhile ministries. The fact that so many individuals and corporate sponsors chose Blackhawk Christian to invest in this year is incredible. I am totally committed to wisely spending the money raised in educating our students to make an impact for Christ locally and globally.

In closing, I encourage you to put November 3, 2017 on your calendar for next year’s Dinner and Auction. While tickets won’t be on sale for a few months, I believe I am safe in saying that it will be an evening you will not want to miss.

Humbled by the gracious generosity of so many, Linda Pearson

You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion,
and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
