BCS Scrip


Scrip is a way to buy the things you normally buy while supporting Blackhawk Christian School at the same time! The scrip office is located on the South Campus, High School office (CLICK HERE for a map).

SCRIP Office Hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 12:00 noon and Sunday mornings before and after both services.

WHAT IS SCRIP?
Blackhawk Christian School has had a Scrip program since 1999. Very briefly, Scrip is a nation-wide fund-raising program for schools and not-for-profits where merchants issue gift cards and gift certificates at a discount to an organization, which in turn sells them to their constituents at face value to be used like cash at the stores. These are the same gift cards you would receive if you drove to those stores to purchase them.

HOW DOES IT BENEFIT BCS?
The discount is our profit. $100 worth of Scrip purchased at a 10% discount costs us $90. When that is sold to our school families we realize a profit of $10.

WHY SHOULD I PARTICIPATE?
Help Blackhawk Christian School. Every time you use Scrip, you are making a donation to BCS that doesn’t cost you anything because it is money you would be spending anyway.  The Scrip profits are used to offset the difference between actual tuition cost and actual tuition revenue received per student, thus helping to contain tuition costs.
Help Your Budget. BCS families can earn tuition credit for every Scrip dollar spent,
as 40% of the profit from all purchases will go towards a voucher that can be applied
towards tuition.
Help Another Family by designating the profit from your Scrip purchases to go towards their tuition voucher.

HOW CAN I PURCHASE SCRIP?

  • Walk-in hours at the Scrip Office (High School office) are Monday and Friday, 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. during the school year.
    Summer hours are Monday and Friday, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
  • Send your order and payment with your child to school in the morning. It will be filled and sent home
    with your child at the end of the school day (exception kindergarten is next day delivery).
  • Call your order in to the office (493-7400 ext.269).
  • Pick-up and pay for it at the High School Office or the North Campus Receptionist Desk.
  • Purchase Scrip in the lobby between and after services on Sunday morning at Blackhawk Ministries.

 HOW DO I PAY FOR SCRIP?
We accept cash, check, credit card (we prefer cash or check because of the credit card fees we incur), money order or traveler’s checks.

ARE SCRIP CERTIFICATES GOOD EVERYWHERE?
The Scrip certificates for national chains are good all across the country. This makes them ideal for gift giving to friends and family who live far away.

WHEN DO I GET MY VOUCHER?
Because the school fiscal year goes from July 1 June 30, we issue tuition vouchers once a year in mid-July. These may be picked up in the Scrip office.

WHO CAN PURCHASE SCRIP?
Anyone! Your family and friends may purchase Scrip on your behalf and add their profit to yours. Businesses also use Scrip for office parties, Christmas gifts and bonuses, customer appreciation, employee incentives, etc.
