Preschool Curriculum

We believe that learning is a life long process and that the early years before a child enters first grade can be the most fruitful for building a proper foundation.
Our preschool curriculum is designed to provide each child with a distinctly Christian worldview that supports strong thinking skills. This curriculum coordinates with the Blackhawk Christian School Kindergarten program and encompasses not only the Indiana Foundations for Young Children taught at most preschools, but also incorporates an age-appropriate level of Bible. We focus on the added dimensions that we consider essential to a fulfilled life: a fundamental understanding of Biblical truths and stories, the reality of the love of God, a purposeful pursuit of Christian character, discipline and respect for authority and patriotism.

Curriculum

Along with monthly themes,
our curriculum incorporates:
A Preschool Bible program, letter recognition,
phonics, beginning reading and writing, number
recognition, numeric value, beginning addition and
subtraction, problem solving, science and discovery,
large and fine motor skills, literacy development,
open-ended art, shapes, colors, music appreciation,
sharing, auditory and visual discrimination, sensory
experiences, organizational skills, conflict resolution,
cleanliness, following directions, practical life
skills, attitude awareness and much more.
There are field trips throughout the year,
a Thanksgiving Feast, Christmas pageant,
class parties and a Year End Graduation
program for families to participate in.

Bible Curriculum

Each class integrates Biblical truths
throughout the class day. We also utilize a
preschool Bible curriculum as well as daily devotions.
There are Bible memory verses each month.
