Middle School students at Blackhawk Christian attend a school that is intentionally designed to provide smooth transitions and a sense of community for all seventh and eighth grade students. The benefits to our middle school students are:

  • Four core teachers who collaborate daily regarding student needs and curriculum
  • Interdisciplinary units
  • Consistent expectations among the teachers
  • Common study hall period in which the core teachers are available to students
  • Chapel designed to meet Middle School needs
  • Close proximity of the middle school classrooms and lockers
  • Team-building activities
  • a middle school C.O.W (computers on wheels) that is shared among the core teachers, allowing the students to collaborate with one another and use technology in meaningful ways and prepares the students for the Macbook computers that they will be issued while they are students at Blackhawk Christian High School.

The middle school at Blackhawk Christian consists of core classes, mandatory enrichment courses, and fine art electives.

Seventh grade students:

  • Science
  • Math
  • Language arts
  • Geography
  • Bible focusing on the life of Jesus.

Eighth grade students:

  •  Science
  • Algebra
  • Language arts
  • U.S. history
  • Bible focusing on old testament characters from Genesis through Judges.

All students also take gym, health, and computer applications during their time in middle school.  Elective including art, band, and choir are available to all seventh and eighth grade students.

Middle school students at Blackhawk Christian also have ample opportunities for extra-curricular involvement.  Cross country, soccer, basketball, and track are offered for both girls and boys.  In addition, girls are invited to play on the middle school volleyball team.   Leadership opportunities, like Student Council, are available for students in the middle school, as well.
