Preschool Academy
Welcome to the Preschool Academy at Blackhawk Christian School! We provide an age-appropriate, hands-on learning environment with a play-based curriculum that aligns with the Early Learning Foundation standards, and is suited to meet a variety of learning styles. We believe a growth mindset is critical for all stages of learning, and our teachers lead by example in this concept. Above all else, we will openly share Biblical truth and purposefully teach Christ-like character. We are committed to Preparing Hearts and Minds to Serve Christ, beginning with the littlest learners.

Is My Child Ready for Preschool?
If your child is age eligible, and fully potty trained, they might be ready for preschool! Here are some additional indicators that your child might be ready to join us at BCS Preschool Academy:
- Independence: Your child can independently handle basic tasks such as washing their hands, using the restroom, feeding themselves, etc.
- Socialization: Your child enjoys being around other children and is able to interact with them well in a large group setting.
- Separation: Your child can handle being away from you for short amounts of time, under the care of another adult. (It is normal for a student to cry for a few minutes after saying goodbye.)
- Communication: Your child can communicate basic needs, and understands and follows basic words and instructions.
- Focus: Your child can concentrate on a task for 5-10 minutes.
