I'm honored to join you and celebrating Blackhawk Christian school's 50th anniversary and I've been asked to share just briefly one my time here few highlights how God has blessed this place during my time here and especially anything God would lay in my heart to share and he has some 2008 Kelly Byrd asked if I'd consider finishing my education of career here at Blackhawk Christian I said yes I followed Sam Barfield you're later I hired Linda Pierson to lead our high school and a few years later in 2013 she followed me is lead administrator here so I just served five years I consider that a pretty small piece of this history 10% of the 50 years were celebrating and yet a part of the history or his story as I like to call it God story and I've often said those five years probably had a greater impact on me than I had them call Christian school and I'll come back to that a little later but with within that comment I've said I probably believe more now in the mission of BCS than I did when I came in 2008 and will touch that but yes question to how did God bless his place during my years I see so many but a couple I'd like to touch on one we rework the logo and the headline during those years and the logo I still love sing the saddle cross within that a school color yellow logo that you see on the building in an AR website other places but especially the tagline preparing hearts and Minds to serve Christ we dealt a lot with that and specifically paid attention to the order parts first mine second because what does it matter what we do with the mind if we have an impacted the heart so those it meant a lot to me other this would have been the enhanced technology adding Wi-Fi throughout the buildings and smart boards I'm not sure if those are even here 12 1 laptops iPads and that whole instructional a growth during that time another area would have been the planning for the three track or the adding one grade level at the elementary pork approve grade that's sense with Linda and Kevin has been fully implemented and has resulted in our enrollment going from 700 I think maybe my life your ear in 2013 to 900 + with waiting list today so God clearly has blessed this place in so many ways another worth noting expanding the extra-curricular I remember we had a cross country and track I think maybe even bowling just offering more opportunities for students and I know that continues with 8-man football today but perhaps most significant and want to talk about this the second was our decision to add to participate in the Indiana school voucher program and then the related development of the BCS endowment that was established and in just very short wanting to make clear that when we added participation in the school Voucher Program are bored new and continues to know and he's very committed to one while this allows more families to 10 PCS we are also fully committed that should the voucher program ever wire us to yield on any of our Biblical principles we simply would hold firm and I know the board is there today within that commitment became the development of the BCS foundation and many of you will remember that was initially related to our establishment of the renew resale store and within that we opened also a an endowment account the BCS endowment and those two are related in that should the day come that the school Voucher Program conflicts with our greater biblical values that are the BCS endowment is intended to supplement tuition at that given point it's so that position carries on today and with that so many other things that could be added that I've seen God bless this place but what has he laid on my heart I'd like to share this especially with you who are my generation I would just like to encourage you to continue supporting Blackhawk Christian School not only annually but especially in your plan giving and in your estate planning are there multiple ways Jan and I have learned that really allow us to strategically support Blackhawk Christian School not only today but for generations to come one of the Opera it is I had when I came to Blackhawk was to work alongside of happy Waltz and I ate a tough low to the founders of Blackhawk Christian School a verse they often quoted was Psalms 78:4 basically we will tell the coming Generations the Wonders Deeds of the Lord and a part of that goal is made possible for me personally and I encourage it to be a part of yours by ongoing Financial both annual but also in planned giving and estate planning so should you be interested in that just reach
