Thespian Society

The International Thespian Society (ITS) was established in 1929 by a group of college and high school teachers in Fairmont, West Virginia who committed to make schools a place for good theatre and to honor students who do theatre well. In the 81 years since its inception, ITS has grown into an international organization with over a million members worldwide. The BCS chapter of ITS, Troupe #5242 was proudly chartered on November 16, 1993. Each year we are privileged to induct students who show a commitment to our school theatre. Induction into the society is based on invitation, but is a voluntary commitment. Students must have accumulated ten ITS points to be invited, each point representing approximately ten hours of service in some area of theatre arts.
