Bethany Pepple
My name is Bethany Pepple and I love teaching first grade at BCS! Discipling the next generation is a calling I'm so honored to take part in. I graduated with my B.S. in Elementary Education from IU Fort Wayne in 2012 after completing my student teaching here at BCS. I have taught in various roles at Blackhawk throughout the years, and have had the privilege of homeschooling our 2 oldest daughters during grades K-3.
When did you start teaching, and when did you join BCS?
I began teaching my teaching career at BCS after completing my student teaching with Dawn Balsiger in kindergarten during the spring of 2012. I taught K-4th grade art and lead the K-2nd grade chapel from 2012-2014. Our family expanded and I was blessed to homeschool our girls until 2018. I then joined the primary school teaching K-1st grade art for 1 year. The following year, I worked in the Learning Lab giving assistance to students in need of extra help or further challenge. I moved into teaching 1st grade the 20-21 school year and have been in that position ever since.

What do you love most about teaching at Blackhawk?
The thing I love most about teaching at Blackhawk is the ability and privilege to weave the truth of God's Word into every aspect of our day, both socially and academically.
Tell us a little about your family.
My husband, Thomas, and I dated in high school and then married in 2004. We have 4 beautiful daughters who all currently attend BCS. Our oldest daughter will be graduating at the end of this school year, and our second oldest will be graduating next year. We also have a Rough Collie named Nala. Our church home has been Pathway Community since 2008.
What is one thing students might be surprised to learn about you?
We are beekeepers and harvest honey from our hives every spring and summer!
When you’re not at school, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy being home with my family, drinking delicious coffee, getting creative in the kitchen and around our home, gardening, trying local restaurants, and visiting new places.
