Application for preschool enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year will begin in late Winter / early Spring. Please check back here after Christmas break for updated application information.

 

Is My Child Ready for Preschool?

If your child is age eligible, and fully potty trained, they might be ready for preschool!  Here are some additional indicators that your child might be ready to join us at BCS Preschool Academy:

  • Independence: Your child can independently handle basic tasks such as washing their hands, using the restroom, feeding themselves, etc.

  • Socialization: Your child enjoys being around other children and is able to interact with them well in a large group setting.

  • Separation: Your child can handle being away from you for short amounts of time, under the care of another adult. (It is normal for a student to cry for a few minutes after saying goodbye.)

  • Communication: Your child can communicate basic needs, and understands and follows basic words and instructions.

  • Focus: Your child can concentrate on a task for 5-10 minutes.

 
As part of Blackhawk Christian School, our preschool program is exempt from child care licensing requirements per Indiana licensure exemption IC 12-17.2-2-8.2. We maintain a strong commitment to and compliance with state health and safety practices to ensure the well-being of all participants.  Blackhawk Christian School is ACSI accredited P-12.
