7th and 12th grade English

I grew up on the northeast side of Indianapolis and attended Lawrence Central High School.  After graduation, I went to Indiana University where I received my Bachelor's degree in secondary English education.  It was in college, at the age of 20, that God's pursuit led to a saving relationship in my sweet Savior, Jesus.  The same week that I surrendered my life to Christ, I met my husband!  (But it took us 10 more years before we said, "I do.") It's my favorite story to tell...at another time.  During college, the Lord led me to the mountains of Colorado to work during the summers at Lost Valley Ranch.  I fell in love with God and the value of Christian community in the mountains.  After graduation, I moved to CO and began my teaching career.  I taught one semester of middle school theater as a long term substitute, and then spent the next nine years as an 8th grade English teacher.  During my time teaching, I also earned my Master's of Education in School Counseling.

My husband and I have been married for 20 years this year!  We married in North Webster, IN and then moved the next day to CO.  After a few years of us working and enjoying married life in the city, God called us to move and work full time at Lost Valley Ranch where we helped to manage the staff and business.  It's also where all three of our children were born.  Hayes (15), Mary (14), and Luke (11) are our greatest blessings.  There is no greater joy in my life than watching them fall in love with Jesus and follow Him!  We moved to Fort Wayne, IN in 2017 in order to raise our children near family and in more normal environment.  Dude ranching was a wild life for this mama and her family! I have been a stay-at-home mom until a few years ago when I started substitute teaching in the NACS district and felt the Lord's nudge to go back into the classroom!

I'm thrilled to be a Blackhawk Braves teacher and can't wait to see all the Lord has for us this year!
