Lisa Davidson's bio

I am so grateful to be on staff here at BCS for the past eight years, where I have been blessed to be a part of such an incredible community of staff, students, and families! What an honor and joy it has been!! The first four years I was an assistant Pre-K teacher and the past four years I have been the high school French teacher.

I grew up in Illinois where I attended a Christian school and married my high school sweetheart, Marc, who is the primary gym teacher and jr/sr high school boys PE teacher and varsity basketball coach here at Blackhawk. We have been married for 25 years and what an adventure it has been!! We were married soon after I graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana with an elementary education degree and a minor in Spanish.  Yes, Spanish! But the Lord had different plans because soon after we married, my husband signed a contract to play professional basketball in France, where we lived for 8 years.  Since he retired from playing, he has taught and coached at Christian schools in Michigan, Illinois, and Georgia, where I was able to be a stay-at-home mom with our kids.

The Lord has blessed us with 7 children and most recently a daughter in law!! Wes (BCS class of 2016) married his wife Ashton (also a BCS grad, class of 2017), Will (BCS class of 2017), Frankie (BCS class of 2019), Marcus (a senior), Jimmy (a sophomore), Isaiah and Jaela  (4th graders).  When I am not teaching, I love being my husband's biggest fan, watching our kids play sports, traveling, good food, and hanging out with family and friends.

I am grateful for the opportunities the Lord has given me to travel the world be it through missions trips in high school to Italy and Zimbabwe and Mexico or the travel that we were able to do in Europe as family when we lived in France or traveling with Marc to adopt our two youngest children from Ethiopia.  God has used these experiences of traveling and living overseas to greatly impact my worldview.  I consider it a privilege to be in my students' lives everyday and it is my goal to not only teach them French, but even more importantly, to point them to trust and follow Jesus every day.   Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.
