Mrs. Erica Sefton
Hello! What an amazing calling it is to teach at Blackhawk Christian School!
When did you start teaching, and when did you join BCS?
I taught preschool before we had children and then was blessed to stay home with our kids when they were young! I taught some education classes at the YMCA part-time. I was also a part-time aide for Fort Wayne Community Schools at BCS the year before I started teaching art here. I have been teaching art for 12 years at Blackhawk!

What do you love most about teaching at Blackhawk?
What I love most about teaching at BCS is the people, students, families & staff! They are the best! Love the BCS family! I also LOVE that we get to add Jesus into our teaching and our art, because Jesus is the most amazing artist!
Tell us a little about your family.
I am married to my college sweetheart and love of my life, Jay Sefton! He teaches Government, Econ and business classes at BCS high school. We are blessed with 4 beautiful children Gage, Bryce, Drake & Ciera. Gage and Bryce attend Grace College and play basketball there. Drake and Ciera are high school students at BCS! We believe we are a family on mission, serving under the calling God has placed on our hearts to teach at Blackhawk Christian School. Grateful everyday to be part of the BCS family!
What is one thing students might be surprised to learn about you?
My students might be surprised I am am big time sports fan, any and all sports but especially the sports our children are participating in!
When you’re not at school, what do you enjoy doing?
I love people and I love every minute I can get with family and friends! I love being in the big, beautiful world God created for us adventuring & exploring with my family! I also enjoy studying God's word, worship music, crafting, being creative, reading, mural hunting, taking pictures, walks with my husband, jeep rides, concerts, traveling, lake life, bonfires, sunsets, live music and patio nights under string lights!
