Hi! I'm Lydia Wallis, although some of you may still know me as Miss Belcher. Spidey (the fish) and I welcome you to 3C!
After growing up in Lawrence, Kansas (Rock Chalk, Jayhawk! Go KU!), I moved to Indiana for the first time to attend Taylor University, where I graduated from in 2014 with a BS in Elementary Education.
Next, I moved to Accra, Ghana, where I had the privilege of teaching 1st Grade at American International School (AIS) which is part of the Network of International Christian Schools. After two years I moved on to Casablanca, Morocco where I taught 1st and then 2nd Grade at George Washington Academy, another American school. During this time I completed my MA in TESOL and Intercultural Studies from Wheaton College, graduating in 2019. I loved my time overseas where I grew and learned so much both as an educator and in my walk with the Lord.
After five years in Morocco, I moved back to the US to live with my sister here in Fort Wayne in 2021, when I began teaching 3rd Grade at BCS. In June 2023, I married my husband Timothy. He moved here from Louisville and we are both looking forward to continuing to build a community here especially at our church, Discipleship Network.
I am passionate about educating and discipling students in a way that not only leads them to love learning, but also leads them to a stronger and deeper love of the Lord. When I'm not teaching, you will often find me reading, baking, or playing board games.
