Sean Gibson

I grew up mostly on the NE side of Fort Wayne and attended FWCS through 8th grade. Then attended Concordia Lutheran High School 9-12 which was my first experience with how important and impactful Christian school education can be. The impact that a number of teachers and coaches (including my dad) had on my life put me on a path of working with youth for life. I went on to Indiana University to study secondary social studies education and was on the swim team my freshman year there.

After my student teaching at Northside HS, the Lord took me on a bit of a journey professionally before landing full-time in the classroom. I had stints as a substitute teacher at Northrop and Carroll, a year as a swim instructor, 4 years out of education doing water restoration, 7 years overlapping as a part-time youth pastor and always coaching both HS swim and summer league swim at Arlington Park. Eventually, God felt I was ready and called me back into the classroom! (this is the short version. Ask me in person as I love sharing God’s provision and how faithful He is) I taught 2 years in 6th, 7th and 8th grade social studies at Horizon Christian and then 7 years at Concordia Lutheran H.S. before the Lord called our family to Blackhawk Christian in 2023.

My wife, Danae, and I have three children: Joshua, Hannah and Micah. We attend Brookside Church where Danae is on staff in children’s ministry. Jesus Christ is everything to us. We have more interests as a family than would be worth listing here, so you’ll just have to get to know us!
